Capita hack

A cyberattack on Capita, the UK’s largest outsourcer, is set to cost the company up to £20 million. Personal data believed to have been obtained by a Russian-speaking cyber unit known as Black Basta started circulating on the dark web in March, and hundreds of UK pension funds were asked to see if they’d been compromised. Capita said fewer than 0.1 per cent of its servers were affected but declined to say if it would be paying a ransom. Cybersecurity experts say the Eurovision song contest could be next on the target list.
