UK traffic deaths

On Monday evening two teenage boys, Kyrees Sullivan and Harvey Evans, were killed in an accident in Ely, near Cardiff, involving an electric bike they were both riding. Riots followed in which local people said a police chase caused the crash. At first police denied it but they have now referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct after being shown CCTV footage of a police van following the bike minutes before the crash. In a London hospital, meanwhile, 81 year-old Helen Holland died two weeks after being hit by a police outrider from the Duchess of Edinburgh’s motorcade. This was probably not a good week for Daniel Korski to advocate scrapping red traffic lights after 8pm in favour of blinking amber ones, as part of his campaign to replace Sadiq Khan as London mayor. But he did it anyway.
