Ukraine update

Nova Kakhovka dam at 3am yesterday morning. Who benefits? Russia?  Who has been controlling the Kakhovka power station since March last year? Russia. Who blew it up? Western leaders continue to equivocate. The UK’s defence ministry says the dam “partially failed” but refuses to apportion blame. Rishi Sunak says the attack would mark a “new low” if found to be a Russian operation. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of hectares of agricultural land have been flooded, irrigation to the regions of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro has ceased, thousands of houses are underwater and tens of thousands of lives are threatened since evacuation is impossible because of Russian occupation and shelling.
