A submersible with arms has reached the Titan rescue site

More ships and vessels have been rushed to search an area of the North Atlantic roughly twice the size of Connecticut and more than two miles deep in a hunt for the Titan submersible that went missing with five people on board on a dive to the Titanic site on Sunday. America’s coast guard said “banging” noises continued to be detected on Wednesday, although it wasn’t clear they were coming from the 22-ft submersible. A French research vessel L’Atalante was due to arrive in the area last night and carries a remotely operated vehicle, Victor 6000, that can dive to the depths of the Titanic wreck. The submersible’s oxygen supply was estimated to last until around 10am GMT on Thursday.
