Here’s Kevin Costner’s 4 July Instagram post: “I celebrate the HOPE that drove our ancestors. May it continue to push us towards a more perfect Union.” Lovely sentiment, although Costner himself is as close to perfect unions as Wile E Coyote is to catching the road runner. His messy divorce is entering an inflationary doom spiral. He says his ex Christine Baumgartner, to whom he was married for 18 years, charged $100,000 legal expenses to his credit card while she wants $248,000 per month in child support and $1.4 million in spousal support. Looks a bit pricey, especially given he’s jacked in his starring role in the hit show Yellowstone because he’s upset about his character’s violence. Which is strange because showrunner Taylor Sheridan pitched the series as “The Godfather on a ranch in Montana” so the violence can’t have been that much of a surprise. Fortunately, he still has his passion project – a four-film civil war epic he’s producing, directing and starring in called Horizon: An American Saga. Hopefully it brings in enough to cover the divorce and his $34,000 golf club membership.
