Last autumn, Tortoise spoke to five women – none of whom knew each other – who made very similar allegations of sexual assault against financier Crispin Odey, one of Britain’s richest men. Last month, the FT and Tortoise published the accounts of 13 women who said they had been abused by Odey, all between 1998 and 2021. Now a further six women have come forward, alleging that Odey sexually abused and harassed them. The latest allegations expand the timeline of his abuse – the earliest allegation dates from 1985, when a 26 year-old interior designer claims she was assaulted at Odey’s London home. Odey, who has now lost control of his hedge fund Odey Asset Management, denied all previous allegations. The FT said Odey and Odey Asset Management did not respond when asked about the latest claims.
